Pylons

Deep within the crystal caverns of certain mountains of Earth, exist physical access points to the Archive of the Ancients that contain records of specific alien visitors to Earth. These access points, though linked to the massive database of the central Archive, are were created as cultural records of the civilizations that were transplanted to Earth by the Guardians.

Nicknamed “pylons” by the Ancients of this generation (a reference to an old children's show called, The Land of the Lost), they contain records for the indigenous, transplanted people of the area. These archives were often consulted by local shamans and others for various reasons, including medical, psychological, physical, spiritual and metaphysical knowledge that has been passed on by their ancestors.

The pylons were always prized by the local peoples, who protected their location and access points very diligently. However, much of this information has not been passed on to the more recent generations in “civilized” society, resulting in the degeneration of these treasures into local mythos.

The majority of the pylons, having been put in place by the Elder Race, are still in existence as they were placed in the locations least sensitive to natural changes. When these areas become invaded by people foreign to the original inhabitants, the pylons will seal themselves off from the outside world, waiting patiently for the people they were created for, to return.
