The Path of Kheb
I have started to update the Kheb monastery domain with some information on the spiritual path we refer to as "Kheb", which we got from the Stargate SG-1 episode, Maternal Instinct, because it just was so appropriate--a place and path to ascend to a higher state of being.
That is what this path is about. It is not about self defense, martial arts or other disciplines aimed at the external, physical world. It is an internal path, what the Chinese would call Nei Kung, similar in a fashion to the path of Mo Pai that Kostas Danaos described of John Chang in his book, The Magus of Java. It is based on meditation, introspection and the untying of the psychological and energetic "knots" that bind your energy in an attempt to open up the world view to a much larger perspective, starting with the personal, moving to familial, cultural, societal and species apprehensions.
The path of Kheb is an internal energy practice, where "internal" includes all aspects of the psyche as well as the body. The martial arts practices tend to focus on generating Wei Qi, a defensive energy that is projected about the surface of the body, so you can defend and fight in the physical realm. Kheb, as a type of Nei Kung or Qi Kung, focuses on the internal forms of Qi used for health, strength of mind and spirit. It develops the internal Qi so that even if your body is killed, that part that is uniquely you--your identity, memory and values--is retained after death. Where you go from there becomes a conscious choice, which is part of the higher levels of training.
The biggest difference is that the Martial Arts practices require some kind of rivalry--a competition of attacker/defender where energy is pitted against energy and eventually neutralized. Kheb works with energetic harmony--you bring your Qi into synchronization with that of another life, for mutual benefit. You can also do some rather cool things, since Qi is intelligent and by establishing rapport with the Qi of another, you can literally take over their energy and redirect it.
Though Kheb is based on a number of ancient traditions, such as Yoga, Qi Gong, Nei Kung, Mo Pai, Alchemy, Ásatrú and others, it is a new approach to the Magnum Opus, the Great Work. It also has a scientific base, utilizing a theory of everything created by Dewey B. Larson back in the 1950s, call the Reciprocal System. Larson's system is unique in that it starts with UNITY, the presumption that "all is one," and derives the universe as displacements from that original unity into two realms, the material that we are familiar with, and a cosmic realm, which SciFi calls the Universe of Antimatter, or philosophers refer to as the metaphysical or Soul world. It provides a unique, rational base to what, on the surface, appears to be some very irrational concepts!
The documentation is being created in the Kheb Monastery domain, which you can click on at the top, right of this page, or follow this link: Kheb Monastery.
